A Personal Responsibility Project (PRP) is a self-reflection writing assignment designed to help you explore your own thoughts and real-world situations to become more self-aware of how each topic affects you now and in your future.
Each PRP is uniquely based on the topic from the Wheel of Success to advance your comprehension and application of ideas presented.
Each PRP will generally be a submission where you will discuss and identify your weaknesses, your strengths, and answer specific questions related to the topic you are exploring and discovering.
PRP's should not be a listing of ideas and events but rather a discussion of how you feel about and observe yourself reacting to and thinking about the ideas and events you encounter within the area of study.
Your PRP's will be critiqued with a positive and supportive voice to advance your critical thinking, your writing skills, and your ability to see how the topic applies to your life to motivate you to elevate yourself to a higher level through continued practice and practical application.
The PRP writings are self-reflection; meaning, there is no research required.
A self-reflection paper discusses how you feel, what impact the topic has on your life, what you think about a subject, and how you have grown from the experience, or want to grow with specific concepts. Put your inner voice into text to develop your composition into a document that reflects you and your life. You can and should write in the first person voice or "I' often.
You will be required to compile evidence based on your own habits, behaviors, thoughts, and life challenges within each topic.
The information you include in your PRP’s is personal and confidential and in no way shape or form will it be shared unless you give written permission!
A detailed rubric will be used to critique and grade your self-reflection of each topic.
The rubric is used to guide and improve your papers while challenging you to improve your writing skills to a higher level; there is always room for improvement!
It is highly recommended that you complete each PRP within 7 days of starting the module.
A firm time frame for completing assignments is essential in establishing your personal accountability in life and is always practical experience as a student.
Your PRP will be critiqued based on college level writing demands to get you used to the requirements and criteria that higher education professors expect.
Content, context, spelling, format, and underdeveloped ideas will be challenged!
If your writing needs further development, you will be encouraged and guided on how to improve through recommendations and referrals.
Critiques will be emailed to you within 7 days of your submission.
Your submissions should be formatted in MLA or APA style format.
If you are not familiar with either style open the writing recommendations link at the end of this document to find a proven and excellent writing resource.
